Volunteers' Training
The AJR's volunteer services department provides ongoing training for all volunteers on various aspects of our work.
Forthcoming training
Jewish Culture
AJR's Head of Volunteer services, Carol Hart, offers a “Jewish Culture” project for non Jewish volunteers, where she speaks about Jewish customs and traditions. Carol has been running this training for the past 4 years. The sessions are run in co-operation with the agency Action Reconciliation Services for Peace (ARSP) which supports the AJR by providing non Jewish Polish & German students who act as befrienders.
These meetings have always proved to be very enjoyable and informative.
Where: AJR Head Office, Jubilee House, Merrion Avenue, Stanmore, Middx HA7 4RL
When: Autumn 2011 (exact date to be fixed)
If you want to participate, please contact Carol Hart, carolhart@ajr.org.uk
Recent training
"When the going gets tough"
During March 2011 AJR volunteers were very fortunate to have been able to attend one of four training sessions run by Rae Adler, an experienced Social Worker and Trainer. This session looked at the expectations versus the reality of volunteering as well as helped us find strategies to handle difficult situations and questions.
