Claims Conference event in London
The AJR was delighted to extend invitations to our members to attend an event that was organised by the Anglo-Jewish Association (AJA) at which Greg Schnedier, Executive Director of the Claims Conference, addressed an audience on the theme of The legacy of the Holocaust: The work and future of the Claims Conference.
The event took place at 7pm on Monday 28 March 2011 at the International Institute for Strategic Studies Arundel House, 13-15 Arundel Street, Temple Place, London WC2R 3DX.
Following Mr Schneider's presentation, guests were invited to direct questions to him and a panel of distinguised representatives from the Jewish community including the AJR's Vice-Chairman and Treasurer, David Rothenberg, a Claims Conference Director [representing World Jewish Relief]; and Michael Newman, an AJR Director and Trustee of the AJA.
In the absence of Baroness Ruth Deech, who sent her apologies, the panel was chaired by AJA President Neil Miron. Panellists also included Paul Edlin, a Claims Conference Director and Vice-President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews; Ben Helfgott, a Claims Conference Director and Chairman of the '45 Aid Society; and Karen Pollock, Chief Executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust.
