AJR appoints new Head of Social Services

The Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) is delighted to announce that Maisie Holland has been appointed Head of its Social Services department.

As well as being a qualified social worker and senior counsellor, Mrs Holland has a post-graduate diploma in Supervision from the Westminster Pastoral Foundation and has gained several years experience as a counsellor.

She was most recently Assistant Clinical Director at the Raphael, the Jewish community counselling centre and, since October 2005, is a lecturer on the Introduction to Counselling course at Birkbeck University in London.

Mrs Holland replaces Marcia Goodman, who retired at the end of October following ten years’ service for AJR.

AJR Director, Carol Rossen, said: “We are delighted that Maisie has agreed to lead our dedicated social services team in providing social and welfare services to Holocaust survivors and refugees at this vital time in their lives.”

Maisie Holland said, “I am very excited about this new challenge and to be given this unique opportunity to work with a truly remarkable community of people.”
