Summer regional get-togethers
The last of our Summer regional get-togethers took place in Leeds on 7 August.
Stephen Smith MBE, founder of the Beth Shalom Holocaust museum and Chairman of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, addressed almost 100 members from across the north of England and Scotland.
We were delighted to welcome 125 AJR members from the north and north-west of London to Radlett on 17 July who gathered for a day of socialising and entertainment. The event also marked the launch our newest regional group in Radlett for AJR members living in Borehamwood, Bushey, Elstree, Radlett and Watford.
Professor Geoffrey Alderman spoke on the subject of: 'The Holocaust: Why did British Jewry do so little?' To read a copy of Professor Alderman's talk (3MB), click here. At our Scottish and Newcastle gathering in Edinburgh on 27 June, AJR members heard from Paul Tyack of the Anne Frank Trust and Sitakumari, Director of Heartstone about their Holocaust education projects. The day concluded with a musical performance by Gica Loening.
