Fraenkel Prize 2000

The Wiener Library has announced that the 2000 Fraenkel Prize in Contemporary History has been awarded jointly to Professor John Horne & Dr Alan Kramer for their book German Atrocities in 1914: Meanings and Memories of War and Dr Mark Roseman for his book The Past in Hiding. Dr M Healy (USA) received the prize for entrants who have yet to publish a major work for his book Vienna Falling: Total War and Everyday Life.

In the year 2001 there will again be two distinct Prize awards, both for unpublished works in the field of Contemporary European History: one of US $5,000 open to all entrants and one for US $3,000 open only to those who have yet to publish a major work.
