AJR Paul Balint Centre
The AJR Paul Balint Centre welcomes all AJR members and offers a wide range of entertainment and activities run by staff and volunteers and the opportunity to socialise in a unique setting. From January 2012 the AJR Centre convenes twice a week - Tuesdays and Thursdays - at the Belsize Square Synagogue.
Alongside the regular book club meetings, we are introducing a monthly Art Appreciation Club and we would be delighted to welcome members to the fortnightly current affairs discussion group. Additionally, every Tuesday, members will have the chance to receive computer lessons.
Once a month all members in the North West London area will receive the new AJR Centre Newsletter which, as well as containing details of forthcoming events, will report on gatherings, celebrations and commemorations we organise, and profile members and staff.
To help us coordinate all these activities, a new AJR Centre Planning Committee – comprised of AJR members and AJR Head Office and Centre staff – will meet regularly to ensure the Centre continues to deliver our services and to discuss new ways of reaching out and encouraging new participants.
As at the Centre's previous home in Cleve Road, West Hampstead, we will arrange for transport to and from the Synagogue and members will still be able to purchase snacks and essentials from the AJR shop.
Members attending the AJR Paul Balint Centre at Belsize Square Synagogue will also be treated to a brand new menu of delicious kosher meals prepared by Hermolis caterers, who will also cook the Meals-on-Wheels that we will continue to deliver. Meals on Wheels deliveries will be made once a week on a Friday with a three-course meal costing £7, plus a £1 delivery charge. As well as being posted to members in the North West London area, the menu will be available from Head Office and on our website.
Members are invited to attend a party to mark the re-launch of the AJR Centre at Cleve Road, West Hampstead on Thursday 12 January 2012. Please see the AJR Journal for more details.
